GVW Group, formerly Grand Vehicle Works LLC, is an investment group and holding company based in Highland Park, Illinois, USA. Founded in 1993 by South African businessman Andrew Taitz, the company purchased Union City Body Company of Union City, Indiana. Further investments centered around manufacturing, distribution, technology, big data, engineering and energy efficiency.

Union City was GVW's first investment. Union City manufactures custom trucks and chassis.
Workhorse Custom ChassisEdit

GVW formed Workhorse Custom Chassis when it acquired the production and sales of General Motors’ popular P-series Stepvan chassis in 1998. After developing the company, GVW sold it and UpTime Parts to Navistar in 2005. It is based in Wakarusa, Indiana, USA.

The new Autocar Company was formed in 2001 in Hagerstown, Indiana, USA when GVW acquired the Xpeditor truck line and rights to the Autocar brand from Volvo Trucks after Volvo's acquisition of Renault Trucks left it with too great of control on the heavy truck market.
