The Fujian Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd. (FJDA;

) is a joint venture betwenn the German Daimler AG with the Chinese state-owned Fujian Motors Group and the Taiwanese Mitsubishi Motors subsidiary China Motor Corporation.

In March 2012, the company was renamed Fujian Benz Automotive Co. (FBAC).[1]


The company was founded in June 2007 and is located in the Qingkou Investment Zone in Fúzhōu, Fujian province. The construction of a plant started in October 2010. But for logistical reasons the company has moved in February 2009 to another completed construction within the town. For establishing of the joint venture and building the plant facilities, Fujian Motor Industry Group Company and the Hong Kong Daimler Vans Limited has invested an capital of 208,000,000.

The plant has started its production in February 2010 with the occasional production of prototypes. In this way, the production should become routine for the staff. Also the adjustment of vehicle components produced by Fúzhōu local third-party, should be made easier by this way. About forty percent of all necessary vehicle parts and components are produced by this locally-based firms. On the 16th April 2010 the FJDA has launched the official series production.

The company site covers an area of 128,000 . The company currently employs 1300 workers. Approximately 40,000 vehicles per year should be made at maximum utilization. Depending on demand, the production lines of the plant can be used model variable. This means that a production line is not assigned to a particular model. As in all other production facilities of the Daimler AG, the Mercedes-Benz Production System is applied.

For the distribution of the vehicles is the Beijing-based company Daimler Northeast Asia Ltd. (DNEA) responsible. The vehicles produced by the FJDA are offered by this way in the markets of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of China, Hong Kong and South Korea]. The vehicles of the Chinese production can be detected at the rear. Below the name of the car model, you can find the manufacturer name in Chinese characters.
