The William Foster & Co. DCC Traction Engines No. 14593 "Fiery Elias" is a traction engine which was built by the William Foster and Company.


History[]

"Fiery Elias" is a Foster eight-ton traction engine owned by the late Teddy Boston, formerly on view at The Old Rectory, Cadeby, Leics.

In Fiction[]

Trevor the Traction Engine is one of the non-railway characters featured in The Railway Series of children's books by the Rev. W. Awdry. Appearing in several of the books, the traction engine was originally 'saved from scrap' by The Vicar of Wellsworth with the help of Edward the Blue Engine. Trevor has also appeared in a number of episodes in the TV spin-off Thomas & Friends.
