|Notes||Built as a "special project" to fill a gap in range by County for Ford|
The Ford 8100 was introduced in 1976 as a stop gap measure to offer a 6-cylinder 100 hp + model. The 8100 was discontinued in 1980 when it was replaced by the Ford 8200 updated model built by Ford in house.
Originally derived from the Ford 7600 rear end and a 6-cylinder engine to fill a gap in the 100 hp sector. Assembled by County using an EVA belly pan unit and the Industrial engine. Offered to compete with the J.J. Thomas 100 hp model built from Ford 5000 units.
See info box for main spec.
These relatively rare modern 'Classic' models are starting to be collected by owners for Showing and road run use and occasional work during the busy times of year in their farming enterprise. Also there are some smaller contractors who find a well maintained / restored example offers better value than investing in an over specified modern electronic controlled tractor as the relative simplicity allows them to service and repair them in there own workshop.
