From 1981 until 1996, the company was known as Sevel Argentina S.A.. In 1996, it was renamed Fiat Auto Argentina S.A., or Fiat Córdoba.
Locomotive/Rail-car subsidiary[]
Fiat Concord included various Fiat subsidiaries in Argentina. Fiat Ferroviaria built locomotives and rail cars and was an important part of the company. It continued as part of Fiat until 2002, when it was sold to Sergio Taselli and renamed Material Ferroviario S.A. (Materfer). The sale included the brand name of Agritec, which had been used by Fiat on some tractors in Argentina, and also GMD (Grandes Motores Diésel).[1] Materfer today builds locomotives, railcars and buses under the Materfer brand, and tractors, skid-steers and combine harvesters under the Agrinar, Marani and Marani Agrinar brands.
