The Farmall 230 was built by International Harvester from 1956 to 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Model History[]

For Company history see
Main article: International Harvester

The Farmall 230 was basically a restyled 200. An increase in governed rpm from 1,650 to 1,800 and an increase in the compression ratio gave the 230 four additional hp, up to 28 belt and 25 drawbar hp.

Tractor Comparison[]

Competitors for the Farmall 230 from 1956-1958 were the Allis-Chalmers CA, Cockshutt 20, John Deere 420, Massey-Harris Colt, and Minneapolis-Moline BF. The Case 311 and Oliver Super 66 were more powerful than the Farmall and cost more.
