Engenheiros Especializados SA, or Engesa, was a Brazilian company in the agriculture and defence sectors that specialized in producing tactical military trucks and armoured fighting vehicles, as well as civilian SUVs similar to Jeeps. The company's first headquarters was located in Liberty Avenue in the city of São Paulo, SP, and was founded by José Luiz Whitaker Ribeiro in 1963. In 1976 Engesa began manufacturing forestry skidders. The production of 4WD tractors began in 1981. In 1983, Engesa looked to expand its offerings by purchasing FNV (Fabrica Nacional de Fegaio) of Brazil, which manufactured construction equipment. FNV had previously had a joint venture with Allis-Chalmers, and later a joint venture with Komatsu in Brazil.

By 1990, Engesa was in bankruptcy, and by 1993, possession of FNV passed to Iochpe-Maxion. The Engesa brand and tractors were discontinued.
