Dragon Tractor Corp. was founded in Placerville, California, USA in 1987 to import tractors and equipment from China. The company eventually moved to Trion, Georgia.

The first tractors were built by Shanghai Tractors and FengShou in China. In 1993, Dragon announced plans to import tractors from India built by Hindustan (Gujarat Tractor Corp). These don't seem to have sold very well as no examples have been found.

The company later quit importing Chinese tractors, and began importing Kukje tractors, branded as Branson, and changed the corporate name to Branson Tractors in 1998. In 2003, Branson became part of Kukje, which in turn was purchased by Tong Yang Moolsan in 2017. The Dragon brand was dropped.
