A Dennis Dagger of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.

Dennis Dagger is a purpose-built fire engine manufactured by Dennis Specialist Vehicles in Guildford, Surrey (now known as Alexander Dennis). The Dagger is capable of carrying 12.5 tonnes of equipment and is fitted with a 4000 L/min water pump. The appliance is powered by a Cummins C Series engine.

  • Engine: Cummins ISBe Euro 3, 6-cylinder turbo diesel producing 250 bhp (186 kW)
  • Gearbox: Allison 2000 Series 5-speed fully automatic
  • Brakes: Full air - front discs, rear CW ABS.
  • Electrics: 24-volt single pole, negative earth.
  • Fuel System: 130 litre capacity
  • Power: Take-Off Gearbox mounted side window Chelsea 27 series, ratio 1:21:1. Suitable for 4000 L/min pump
  • Steering: Integral power
  • Suspension: Front semi-inverted 3 leaf parabolic. Rear coil spring located by trailing taper leaf spring.
  • Main Pump: Godiva WS 4010 Output 4000 L/min @ 10 bar, Max 6200 L/min
  • Water Tank: 1800 litre capacity welded copolymer construction
  • Hose reels: 2 hose reels each 54 metre x 19.4 mm capacity high pressure hose
  • Cab: 6 Firefighter high-grade stainless steel cab. Conforms to ECE 29 Parts A, B & C
  • Bodywork: Welded frame aluminium construction with in built facility for variable height stowage system.
  • Lockers: 3 lockers each side of appliance, enclosed by anodised aluminium roller shutter. Rear pump bay doors.
  • Ladder: Gantries optional per customer requirement
  • Finish: Full paint finish to cab to customer requirement
