Features
The D9T has a C18 engine with 'Advanced Combustion Emissions Reduction Technology' (ACERT) and Air-to-Air After Cooler (ATAAC) producing 410 hp (310 kW) (FWHP). It comes standard with 24-inch (61-cm) shoes, torque converter, differential steering, and a three speeds forward, three reverse powershift transmission. It is also equipped universal and straight-universal dozer blades.
The D9T was manufactured in the USA only, with a RJS serial number prefix.
Based on data from the sales database of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, it is estimated that more than 100 Caterpillar D9T crawler tractors have been produced.
A number are in operation in the UK on opencast sites and large quarries. They are rarely used on construction sites other than major civil engineering and highway construction jobs involving major muck shifts or rock extraction.
