For vehicle registration numbers grouped by area code (indicates locality) of the vehicles first registration. Note:It may not be were the vehicle was actually based when first registered. Also some old codes are now being used by the DVLA to issue registration numbers for vintage vehicle which were never registered originally (may be an import in recent times) or have 'lost' the original as lapsed or vehicle de-registered or transferred to another vehicle.
