Hidden categories

This is an administration category. It is used for administration of the Tractor Wiki project and is not part of the encyclopedia. It contains pages that are not articles, or it groups articles by status rather than content. Do not include this category in content categories.

This is a container category. Due to its scope, it should only contain subcategories.

This is a hidden category. It is not shown on its member pages, unless the corresponding user preference 'Show hidden categories' is set.

This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. Pages are added to tracking categories through templates.

The subcategories of this category are hidden categories. To add a category to this category, tag it with {{Hidden category}} or {{Tractor Wiki category}} (with a parameter).

Description:

Hidden categories are those that have been tagged with the magic word: __HIDDENCAT__.
In accordance with Project:Categorization, the categories that should appear here are the maintenance categories, that is, categories reflecting the present status of the encyclopedia article, rather than classifying the article subject.
Hidden categories do not appear listed on articles. If you are wondering why the category you have added to an article has not appeared, check to see if the category is hidden. Previewing a page will list hidden categories at the bottom of the page, below the list of templates used.
Hidden categories are not hidden on category pages. You can view hidden categories on all pages by adding the following code to your wikia.css (or whatever skin you use):

.catlinks-allhidden, .mw-hidden-cats-hidden { display: block; }

You can also make hidden categories visible by going to your preferences, under the "Appearances" tab.
