'technically' the Area is called The East Riding of Yorkshire, but we use the shorter East Yorkshire to align with the other 3 areas that make up Yorkshire.

• It is a ceremonial county. For this purpose only it includes the city of Kingston upon Hull, which is also a unitary authority. The Kingston upon Hull category is included in the list of subcategories below.
• It was one of the three traditional Ridings of Yorkshire. The riding covered a larger area than either the unitary authority or the ceremonial county, but it is no longer an administrative unit, and it is ignored by this Wiki's category system.
