The Buffalo Pitts Company of Buffalo, NY was Incorporated in 1897. But the companies origins go back to the 1830's when two brothers Hiram and John Pitts started building threshers and obtained a patent in 1837.

The company went through many changes of name becoming Buffalo-Springfield Roadroller Company in Springfield, Ohio USA. After a merger with the Kelly-Springfield Road Roller Company. The merger was delayed for a couple of years while a major stockholder held out for more money until about 1916.[1]

The company built Threshing machines, agricultural implements, Steam engines, Steam rollers, Steam trucks, early gas tractors and they even attempted to build aircraft.
