Bautz was a German tractor manufacturer founded by Josef Bautz in 1948. The company was based in Saulgau/Oberschwaben, Germany and continued manufacturing tractors until 1963. Bautz had a short-lived union/venture with Hanomag, and they later built some higher-horsepower British Nuffield tractors. Most of Bautz tractors used Single or twin-cylinderMWM engines.[1] There was at least one model of a Bautz-HELA tractor built in some sort of cooperation with HELA. From 1950-1969, Bautz built combine harvesters, and in 1969, Bautz sold its combine business to Claas.
