Engine History[]

Oberon was built in 1927 at the Aveling and Porters works in Kent. It was supplied new to Dumfries County Council and worked there until the 1950s. John Crowther bought it in 1952 and it's first rally was in 1955 and was rallied extensively all over the country until 1982 when Harry and Brian Allison bought it and was rallied all other the country but then in 1999 it came off the road for a new firebox and boiler barrel. In early 2015 it came back on the road. She is now all looking lovely in the families shed ready for this year's rally.
