Askam, a subsidiary of Çiftçiler Holding, is a manufacturer of trucks and commercial vehicles in Turkey.
History[]
Askam founded in 1962 as joint venture with 60% Chrysler and started production in 1964 under the brand names of Fargo, Desoto and Dodge. In 1991, Chrysler sold its share to the local partners and current owners. After the merge of Daimler-Benz and Chrysler, the company changed its name to Askam Kamyon Imalat ve Ticaret AŞ and continued to produce its products under Fargo and Desoto brands. Today Askam produces a variety of Fargo and Desoto heavy/light trucks in its own original designs.
