Argyle Trucks was a Scottish manufacturer of trucks based in East Kilbride in Scotland. The company was founded by Argyle Diesel Electronics Ltd in 1970. The company stopped manufacture in 1973

The company built them from standard components, such as Perkins engines, Eaton gearbox and axles, with a Motor Panels cab.

The Model rangeEdit

The rang of models was basically a four-wheeler 16-ton gross chassis cab - the Argyle Cristina which had a Perkins 6.354 diesel engine. They also built prototype tractor units and a Six-wheeler rigid.

And a one off heavy tractor the Argyle Trilby was built for British Steel fitted with a Cummins engine and designed to haul a 120 ton load within the steel works.

Production was only low with some sources saying only 24 were built.[1]
