The American Ice Mfg. Co. (AIC) of New York City had trouble finding heavy-duty trucks for its own needs so the company built a few 5-ton trucks that were named with the company initials. These 1912-14 trucks were forward control vehicles with 40-hp 4-cylinder engines, 3-speed transmissions, chain drive, and solid-rubber tires.
