History[]
Engines were first produced in 1943 under the Valmet Diesel Engines brand, and marine-engines were built under license from Burmeister & Wain of Denmark. Engines for tractors began in 1957. In the 1970s, Sampo-Rosenlew began using Valmet Diesels in their combine harvesters.
After Valmet acquired the tractors business of Volvo BM, the Volvo BM tractors began to use Valmet Diesels engines.
Valmet Diesels were first manufactured in Brazil in 1994 for the local Valmet factory.[2]
Valmet Diesel was changed to Sisu Diesel, and in 2008 to AGCO SISU Power.[3]
